Week 4 @ The Real McCoy

Starting Lineup:
QB: Cam Newtown
RB1: DeMarco Murray
RB2: Rashad Jennings
WR1: Michael Crabtree
WR2: Keenan Allen
TE: Niles Paul
FLEX: Golden Tate
DEF: San Diego
K: Matt Bryant

This week El Pollo Loco travels to Texas for an old fashioned hoedown with The Real McCoy. Loco looks to build some momentum coming off a big division win last week against a depleted Whitner Wonderland squad. Loco scored 115 points last week which is a season high but there is room for improvement and they will have to put up more than 115 if they want to beat a tough McCoy team. McCoy is lead by QB Andrew Luck, RB Matt Forte, and TE Rob Gronkowski so they have the potential to put up big numbers every week. This match-up is huge for both teams with McCoy still looking for their first division win and Loco trying to get back to .500.

Bye weeks start this week and Niles Paul gets the start at TE due to Jordan Cameron being on bye. Paul has been very productive filling in for oft-injured Jordan Reed. Loco hopes that Paul can keep things rolling and start the team off fast on Thursday Night Football. Loco set the league record for rushing yards in a single game last week and looks to continue their success at the RB position. Last week Michael Crabtree stepped up with a 20 point performance causing him to receive a promotion to WR1 over Keenan Allen. Reports earlier in the week indicated that the front office is becoming frustrated with Allen's slow start this season and there is no doubt that he needs to step up this week if Loco wants to win.

Week 3 @ Whitner Wonderland

Starting Lineup:
QB: Cam Newtown
RB1: DeMarco Murray
RB2: Rashad Jennings
WR1: Keenan Allen
WR2: Michael Crabtree
TE: Jordan Cameron
FLEX: Knile Davis
DEF: Tennessee
K: Matt Bryant

This week El Pollo Loco travels to Whitner Wonderland after a disappointing loss against It Ertz When I Pee. This week is huge for Loco, they know they can't start off 0-2 in the division. Loco looks to get things going after a blockbuster trade on Monday with Perpetual Dynasty. The trade sent first round pick Eddie Lacy and TE Dennis Pitta to PD. Loco welcomes back Michael Crabtree also receiving Rashad Jennings and Josh Gordon in the trade. It's tough for Loco to lose a player of Lacy's caliber but Loco receives two very good players in Crabtree and Jennings that can be plugged into the starting lineup right away.

Whitner is the defending West division champion and is loaded again this year with guys like Julio Jones, Matthew Stafford, Marshawn Lynch, and Arian Foster. If Loco is going to win this match-up their WRs are going to have to step up. Loco has been getting solid play from their RBs and QB but are struggling to score points at other positions. TE Jordan Cameron is back in the lineup this week after missing last week with a shoulder injury. He is not at 100% but even at 75-80% he is still one of the top TEs in the league. Loco NEEDS this win!

Week 2 vs. It Ertz When I Pee

Starting Lineup:
QB: Cam Newtown
RB1: Eddie Lacy
RB2: DeMarco Murray
WR1: Keenan Allen
WR2: Golden Tate
TE: Dennis Pitta
FLEX: Andrew Hawkins
DEF: Washington
K: Matt Bryant

This week El Pollo Loco welcomes It Ertz When I Pee to Burritoville looking to bounce back after a loss week 1. Ertz comes into the match-up 0-1 also hungry for a win. This is a tough match-up for Loco because Ertz has plenty of fire power. Lead by arguably the best stable of RBs in the league, Jamaal Charles and Giovani Bernard, Ertz is loaded and ready to strike.

In order to come out on top Loco needs his team to step up. Struck by early season injuries Jordan Cameron is sitting out this week allowing for Dennis Pitta to make the start at TE. Pitta starts off the week on Thursday night and Loco hopes to start off strong this week. Also new to the lineup this week is Andrew Hawkins making the start at FLEX. Loco also needs Keenan Allen and Eddie Lacy to step up this week. They both have tough match-ups this week. However, the franchise has great faith in them and they spent two out of their first four picks on these guys to be leaders on the team.

Week 1 vs. Tavon and Only

Starting Lineup:
QB: Cam Newtown
RB1: Eddie Lacy
RB2: DeMarco Murray
WR1: Keenan Allen
WR2: Golden Tate
TE: Jordan Cameron
FLEX: Terrance Williams
DEF: Kansas City
K: Nick Novak

The third season of the MFFL starts this week and El Pollo Loco open up with a game against Tavon and Only. When the schedules first came out this preseason this game looked like an easy win for Loco given Tavon's overall record in his first two seasons. However, after a solid draft, grabbing guys like Megatron and Doug Martin, a majorly improved Tavon squad is ready to make some noise this season. This has set up a very intriguing match-up flying under the radar this week with other great first week match-ups.

Lead by their stud RBs Eddie Lacy and DeMarco Murray Loco looks to start the season off with a W. Loco expects this one to be close and knows the need their WRs to step up in this game to come up on top. Loco feels like they can rely on their RBs and TE Jordan Cameron but they are going to need production out of the WR position. Cam Newton will play this week despite fracturing his ribs earlier this preseason. He will have to make plays with his arm and avoid taking big hits to stay on the field. Loco also needs Terrance Williams to step up and have a solid game. Williams just arrived in Albuquerque yesterday after he was acquired from Perpetual Dynasty via trade and is getting the start at the FLEX position.

Loco Moves Up in the Draft

In a deal finalized this morning El Pollo Loco traded the 6th overall pick and waiver cash to Tavon and Only in exchange for the 5th overall pick. After rumors of trade talks between Loco and ShowMeYourTDs earlier in the week, Loco and Tavon made a surprise deal. When asked about the trade general manager Josh Cermak said, "Even though it's only one spot we felt like this was the best move for the franchise in trying to build the best roster for this season." Speculation is that Loco will take Calvin Johnson with their first round pick, but for now we will just have to wait for the draft.

El Pollo Loco: On the Verge

With the first two seasons of the MFFL in the books the El Pollo Loco franchise has not lived up to the lofty expectations that they set for themselves. Missing the playoffs in each of the first two seasons was a tough blow for Loco, but they were able to salvage each season by winning the Last Man Hand-standing Trophy. As the reining and defending consolation bracket champion Loco has shown that they can step up and pull out wins in the postseason. However, Loco is not satisfied with winning the consolation bracket. This season Loco looks to trade in the LMH trophy for a playoff birth and a shot at the big boys. Not only has Loco proven they can win in the postseason they have the third best winning percentage in the league during the first two years. Loco has been consistent, but with the MFFL's third season on the horizon Loco looks to take the next step to greatness. This is no easy task in a deep league loaded with great managers. Loco knows it will be tough but they are willing to put in the man hours to achieve their ultimate goal: a MFFL championship. Preparation starts now.
